The first was taken on the 12th in Santa Maria, CA, where some firefighters were taking a break from battling some wildfires; the other two were taken on the 24th in Medford. Ethan was about four years old, Emerald was slightly less than one year old. Their home burned down on October 18th, taking both children with it. The tragedy occured about two and a half weeks after Ethan's fourth birthday and three days before Emmie would have been one.
